PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is scheduled to leave the country on Saturday for New York in the USA, where she will address the 76th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 76).

A press statement issued by the State House on Friday night stated that Tanzania's first female President will address the UN Assembly on the 23rd of September, 2021.

While in New York, according to the statement, the Head of State will attend other meetings focussing on climate change, food security, and the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The statement added that the President is expected to meet other heads of state and leaders of various international organizations in order to strengthen their relationship with Tanzania.
